Wates annual report - year 1

The Allotment used powerful, crafted montage images to tell compelling stories of how Wates delivered outstanding buildings for its clients across retail, commercial construction, social housing and interiors in the previous year's annual report.

The challenge and solution

BACKGROUND

The Wates Group is a 118 year-old, family-owned, professionally managed construction business with a £1 billion plus turnover. It has an enviable reputation supported by the company’s full commitment to delivering for its customers while making a lasting difference to the communities it serves.
Our aim with the annual report was to position Wates as a respected, trusted and financially secure operator in a challenging marketplace.

 

OUR APPROACH

Building on the previous year’s annual report that used beautiful montage images we developed a creative approach that focused on the message of delivery through people and efficient processes. The design, using colourful and joined up imagery, illustrated the concept of continuous delivery.

Managing hugely complex building programmes for schools, offices, public services is challenging. Wates achieves unparalleled levels of certainty in cost and delivery but also recognises that being successful takes more than project management and engineering. It requires a dedication to people and their ability to work together.

The annual report for Wates uses storytelling to communicate a corporate message of 'focus on delivery' with depth and meaning.
